Description

New for the 2021 season, the Mazda MX-5 Clubman Championship provides Mk1 Mazda MX-5 racers the opportunity to enjoy competing against each other, however at a lesser cost than the National Championship in terms of overnight stays, tyres, fuel and general car wear and tear.

With a 15-minute qualifying session, followed by 2 x 15-minute races held over a single day, racers can still experience all the fun of MX-5 racing, but without the high level of commitment it takes to race competitively in the National Championship.

The Clubman Championship races are hosted on the same meetings as the National series, so competitors can still enjoy the support of their teams as normal, and also the brilliant camaraderie and welcoming MX-5 paddock.

The Mk1 MX-5 is one of the best small sports cars of all time, and one which provides a true challenge to master for drivers of all experience levels, backgrounds and ages. The relative simplicity of the cars mean they can be prepared from home or maintained by one of several race teams, and they provide a cost-effective way for anyone to compete in a contemporary small open topped sports car.

In addition to overall Clubman Championship honours, a Masters contest is also featured within the series to allow drivers aged 45 and over to fight for their own victories and titles.
